Day 1 – Welcome to Romania

We begin the tour right in the heart of the city with a gentle introduction to Romanian cuisine as we outline the agenda and present the necessary details to start the clock for this wonderful adventure. Depending on the number of guests we will host you either in a chic downtown hotel, or in a boutique hotel right next to the Carol park – an old and beautiful example of an urban garden.

Day 2 – Bucharest

We start the day with a fulfilling breakfast after which we will make our way to the ” Village Museum”, where we will be able to walk around traditional houses and see many examples of the old Romanian decor.
Following on from this, we will then head to another iconic museum called “The Peasant Museum” This museum has won the nomination for “Museum of the Year” in Romania and also in Europe.
What is Bucharest without a visit to the “Palace of Parliament” We will not just admire it from outside but we will also be able to experience being inside one of the few buildings on earth visible from space.
I guess after so much walking and culture you will feel hungry again. Right next to the Palace you will be able to experience what it was like to eat over 100 years ago, where your ears, eyes and tongues will be filled with Romanian atmosphere, food,music and decor.

Day 3 – Bucharest – Brasov with stopover at Mud Volcanoes

We start our journey with a visit to Brasov, our favourite city in Romania, where you will be able to see many medieval buildings all perfectly preserved. Here you will find also the biggest church in Romania “The Black Church”.
On our way to Brasov we will pass through the Mud Volcanoes in Buzau. Many people who have visited these volcanoes have said that is so similar with the lunar landscapes they see on the internet. We are curious to see what you think.
We will stay overnight in Poiana Brasov, a beautiful ski resort that offers a panoramic view no matter what time of the year is.

The resort is also recommended for the treatment of asthenic neurosis, for exhaustion and physical and intellectual overuse, or secondary anaemia and many other ailments. We are sure you will feel rejuvenated after your visit.

Dinner and alcoholic refreshments will be provided at one of the oldest Romanian specific restaurants in Romania .

Day 4 All about Castles with overnight in Viscri

This day is all about Castles. We will start in the morning by visiting Peles Castle in Sinaia, the residence of the Hohenzollern Royal family. Next to it is also Pelisor Castle that has 99 rooms one of them being a golden room. Wait until you see it, it is impressive.

From here we will go to one of the most well-known places in Romania, the Bran Castle – or Dracula’s castle.

We will stop for a while in Viscri, in Brasov County, one of the most beautiful villages in Romania (Prince Charles has a house here and is honorific Mayor of the village). The documents tell us that the village of Viscri was always a free community, never being part of a noble property. Viscri is a small village, with no more than 500 inhabitants. People say that Viscri hides the most picturesque fortified church of the Saxons from Transylvania.

Day 5 – Off to the mountains and Wineries – Cheers

On our way to the mountains, we will stop off at the Liliac Winery in Lechinta, Bistrita County. It is a fine looking vinery but you might be more interested in finding out what the wine tastes like.

We will also drive through the highest pass in Romania – Pasul Tihuta which is the link between Ardeal and Bucovina regions. We will then stay for 2 days in Vatra Dornei – the oldest resort in Romania.

This is also the place where Erich grow up so feels like home every time when we go there. The people of this community are warm, welcoming and they know loads of jokes.

Day 6 – Vatra Dornei

Here we will take in a traditional sheepfold where the locals will prepare for you traditional Romanian food at the cauldron and if you are brave enough, you will be able to sample the strong Romanian brandy. We will share with you the secrets of
our delicious food and lightning drinks. You will be in the heart of nature with campfire, dancing and songs.

This is a great place for wildlife watching or hunting. Never boring, what can we say.

Day 7 – Bucovina Monasteries Tour

Deemed one of the masterpieces of Byzantine art, the Painted Monasteries are one of the many UNESCO heritage sites to be found in Romania. These churches are one-of-a-kind architectural sites in Europe. Far from being simply wall decorations, the murals represent complete cycles of religious events.

Whether you are interested in religion, history, art or architecture, you will be intrigued by the construction and decoration of the exterior and interior of these edifices.

Day 8 – Vatra Dornei to Cincsor

On our way to Cincsor, we will make a stopover at”Turda” one of the most famous salt mines in Romania. Here you will find a variety of underground activities such as bowling, ping pong, mini golf, tennis, boating on the lake and many others while enjoying the aerosols (halotheraphy). This salt mine is also on the list of historical monuments.

Day 9 – Cincsor to Horezu

Today we will travel to another special place in Romania, a place where an ancient civilization was discovered.
Our journey will take us through Transfagarasan – the highest mountain road in Romania (open only in summer time). If you are a Top Gear fan, you already know that this road was declared by Jeremy Clarkson ” the most beautiful road in the world”. And we totally agree!
We will also take you to another magnificent monastery that is considered to be Meterora of Romania, Arnota Monastery – a place of beautiful feelings.
Here you can take part in a ceramic class and create your own ceramic items or buy some unique pieces in the onsite shop. The sky is the limit when it comes to your creativity. Play day ! Or chill day…your choice!

Day 10 – Manasia @ Bucharest plus SPA day

After this long and exciting adventure, we thought you might like a more relaxing stopover at the biggest SPA Centre in Europe, where thermal water is extracted from over 3,100 meters deep and is brought to the surface to feed 8 swimming pools and 16 toboggans plus saunas. And for nature to meet with the man in the most pleasant of settings, at Therme in
Bucharest they have the largest botanical garden in Romania with over 800,000 plants, among which there are over 500 palm trees, orchids and other unique species.
The stay here will be at Manasia Mansion, an eclectic place that will make you feel very festive.

Day 11 – Bye Bye, Baby Don’t you Cry
